The Strategic Action Plan was started three years ago and has two main objectives. One was to improve the overall municipal customer service levels. The other was to make the municipality more marketable to attract or grow more businesses and employment.

The initial development of a mission statement, core values and S.W.O.T. analysis were completed by the previous Council. These are the bits and pieces that a consultant does with an organization to get it thinking and motivated. Only the upgrades to the municipal website were implemented prior to the election.

Since the election, the project has lead to the establishment of five new advisory committees of Council. The intent is that each group will take pieces of the existing results and develop them into workable ways of doing business that Council can approve for implementation.

The basics for each committee, including their structure and how they will interact with Council, has been defined. Initial meeting dates have also been set. We are on our way!
